IPG Tape — Engineered for the Industries That Build America

From commercial construction to cold-chain packaging, IPG has a tape line tested for your specific environment, surface, and code requirement.

Built for Every Trade

Six major trade sectors trust IPG tapes by name on their purchase orders. Here's why.

HVAC Tape Applications

Code-Compliant Duct Sealing From the First Roll

Mechanical contractors face an unforgiving standard: duct connections must hold for decades, through thermal cycling from -20°F to 200°F, without delaminating or outgassing into occupied spaces.

IPG's UL 181-listed foil tapes are tested to ASTM E84 Class A flame spread and smoke development standards. Our HVAC line includes dead-soft aluminum foil tapes for rigid metallic duct, polypropylene film tapes for flex duct sealing, and vapor barrier tapes for insulated assemblies.

Independent testing by our mechanical trade distribution partners shows a 23% reduction in duct leakage-related callbacks when comparing IPG foil tape installations against non-listed alternatives — primarily attributable to adhesive bond durability at elevated operating temperatures.

Commercial Construction Tape Applications

From Framing to Final Finish — Tape That Works Every Stage

Commercial construction demands adhesive solutions that perform through the chaos of multi-trade environments: dust, moisture, concrete dust, paint overspray, and temperature swings between pre-dawn pour and afternoon finishing.

IPG's construction line includes sheathing and housewrap tapes engineered for ASTM E2112 compliance, stucco flashing tapes with 90-day UV exposure ratings, and surface protection films for finished floors and glazing. Our masking tapes are trusted by painting subcontractors for both razor-edge lines and multi-surface clean removal.

For GCs managing critical path schedules, IPG also offers project-specific kitting: pre-selected tape assortments packaged by trade phase (rough, mechanical, finish) to reduce procurement time and on-site inventory confusion.

Electrical Tape Applications

CSA- and UL-Recognized Electrical Insulation Tape

Every IPG electrical tape in our professional line carries CSA and UL recognition under UL 510 (Standard for Polyvinyl Chloride, Polyethylene, and Rubber Insulating Tape). Dielectric strength is tested at 7,000V minimum — well above the 600V working systems encountered in most commercial and light industrial electrical work.

The vinyl formulation remains flexible down to -18°C and resists plasticizer migration that causes older tape to become brittle over 5–10 year service life. Available in 10 standard colors for phase coding, plus high-visibility orange and yellow for lockout/tagout applications.

Drywall and Insulation Tape Applications

Vapor Control, Joint Sealing, and Surface Masking Done Right

Drywall and insulation trades work with materials that vary in surface energy — kraft paper, foil-faced batt insulation, polyethylene vapor barriers, and painted gypsum all have different adhesion requirements.

IPG's insulation facing tape uses a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive engineered specifically for low-surface-energy polyolefin and foil facings, providing a code-compliant vapor retarder connection at butt joints and seams. For drywall masking applications, IPG masking tapes are tested to deliver clean removal from all standard interior paint finishes without staining or surface damage.

Roofing Tape Applications

Flashing and Seam Tape That Holds Through the Weather Cycle

Roofing applications expose tape to the harshest possible combination of UV radiation, thermal cycling, and wind-driven moisture infiltration. IPG's roofing and flashing tapes are formulated with modified bitumen or aggressive acrylic adhesives specifically for high-UV exterior exposure.

Our window and door flashing tape meets ICC AC-148 acceptance criteria for pan flashing tape and sill plate tape applications. The 40-mil total thickness provides conformability over rough-sawn framing without bridging voids that create moisture pathways — a common failure mode with thinner competitive products.

Industrial Packaging Tape Applications

Seal Every Box Like the Contents Depend on It

Distribution and manufacturing operations face a clear productivity equation: every tape failure is a downstream cost — damaged goods claims, repack labor, customer satisfaction incidents, and carrier liability disputes.

IPG's industrial packaging line offers water-activated tape (WAT), high-performance carton sealing tape, and reinforced strapping tape for every throughput level. Our WAT bonds into the corrugated fibers of the carton, creating a tamper-evident seal that cannot be silently removed and reapplied — a security feature increasingly required by e-commerce platform compliance standards.

For high-volume operations, IPG offers tape machine program support: matching the right WAT machine configuration to your line speed, carton geometry, and operator workflow to achieve seal consistency rates above 99.8%.
