The choice depends on temperature and code requirements. Standard duct tape (cloth-backed) is ideal for general sealing up to 200°F and temporary repairs. UL 181-listed aluminum foil tape is required by code for permanent ductwork connections and operates reliably up to 260°F. If it's going inside a duct chase or mechanical room, use foil tape.

Yes — but the tape must be applied above 40°F for the adhesive to activate properly. Once bonded, most IPG professional tape lines remain flexible and adhesive down to -40°F. Our cold-weather HVAC foil tape and flashing tapes are specifically formulated for application in temperatures as low as 25°F when surface conditions allow.

Bulk pricing typically begins at case quantities (varies by SKU, usually 24–36 rolls per case). For contractors and distributors purchasing full pallet quantities, IPG offers dedicated account pricing. Contact our sales team with your estimated monthly volume and we'll structure the right agreement for your operation.

Absolutely. We encourage on-site testing — adhesion behavior varies by surface, ambient temperature, and substrate porosity. Submit our sample request form with a brief description of your application and we'll ship relevant samples with a technical data sheet for each product. Most samples arrive within 3–5 business days.

Yes. IPG's 14 North American manufacturing facilities support custom slitting and rewinding for most tape lines. Minimum order quantities apply (typically 5,000–10,000 linear feet per custom configuration). Custom printing, specialized color coding, and private-label options are available for qualifying volume accounts.
